We thoroughly enjoyed our night staying at Old Faithful Inn. The old part of the building was fascinating and it was very useful staying so close to the geysers as one of us (maybe 2 of us) had become addicted to watching them.
Old Faithful Inn log lobby.
Old Faithful 7:55 am eruption.
After checking out we drove to Midway Geyser Basin and walked the 1 mile trail to Grand Prismatic Spring overlook. As we were quite early it was nice that there were only a few people at the overlook but apparently the colours are better in the afternoon, as there's not so much steam.
We then returned to Old Faithful car park and sat and waited 1 hr 10 mins for Grand Geyser to erupt. The eruption lasted 12 mins, I have a full video for those that are interested!!!
We made a short visit to West Thumb Geyser Basin as we left Yellowstone National Park.
We then travelled to Grand Teton National Park, unfortunately smoke was still in the air and we could not get a clear view of the mountains.
The lodge thing you stayed in looks great, will have to go there. Looking forward to the full unedited video. 8-)
